Julian Cash and Lloyd Glasspool have been made to wait for a title in 2026, but they finally had reason to celebrate on Sunday at the Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell, where they overcame Pierre-Hugues Herbert and Andrea Vavassori 6-3, 6-4 in the final.
British pair Cash and Glasspool captured seven trophies in a standout 2025, including a major at Wimbledon and an ATP Masters 1000 crown in Toronto. Cash and Glasspool have fallen in finals in Brisbane and Doha this year but ensured there would be no more heartbreak with a routine win against Herbert and Vavassori at the ATP 500.
Cash and Glasspool saved all seven break points they faced, according to Infosys ATP Stats, and clinically converted two of their three break point chances to triumph.
In a hard-fought week in Barcelona, the top seeds won two Match Tie-breaks, saving one match point in their win against Hugo Nys and Edouard Roger-Vasselin. Cash and Glasspool are up to No. 8 in the PIF ATP Doubles Team Rankings.
It is the first time Cash, 29, has won a tour-level title on clay. Glasspool, 32, lifted the trophy on the surface in Hamburg in 2022.
Herbert and Vavassori were teaming for the first time this week. The French-Italian pair did not drop a set en route to the championship match at the clay-court event in Spain.
