Lucas Miedler made the most of two fleeting opportunities at the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells, where he turned both into brilliance to secure March’s Hot Shot of the Month presented by Yokohama.
The 29-year-old Austrian produced around-the-net winners in back-to-back matches during his run alongside partner Francisco Cabral at the ATP Masters 1000 event in California. With those instinctive flashes of skill, he set himself apart from fellow March nominees Carlos Alcaraz, Daniil Medvedev and Alexander Bublik.
Such shots are a rarity on the ATP Tour, making Miedler’s achievement of pulling them off in consecutive matches all the more remarkable — and a clear choice for fans.
Miedler, the 11-time ATP Tour doubles champion, now joins singles standouts Lorenzo Musetti and Alcaraz among this year’s fan-voted winners. Attention turns to April, when more spectacular hot shots are sure to follow.
