Sinner completes Masters 1000 SF set, joins Djokovic, Nadal & Co. in record books
Italian is the sixth man to reach the last four at all nine Masters 1000 events

Jannik Sinner made more history on Wednesday at the Mutua Madrid Open, where he completed the set of reaching all nine ATP Masters 1000 semi-finals.
The Italian overcame 19-year-old Spaniard Rafael Jodar to reach the Madrid semi-finals for the first time in his career. With that milestone, Sinner becomes just the sixth player since the series began in 1990 to make the last four at all nine ATP Masters 1000 events.
The 24-year-old joins an elite group featuring Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer, Andy Murray, and Alexander Zverev, the latter having completed the full set earlier this year in Indian Wells.

Sinner is an eight-time Masters 1000 champion, having lifted his first trophy at this level in Toronto in 2023. The No. 1 player in the PIF ATP Rankings has won the past four Masters 1000 events (Paris, Indian Wells, Miami and Monte-Carlo) and is aiming to become the first player to win five consecutive crowns.
The Italian, currently on a 26-match win streak at the level according to the Infosys ATP Win/Loss Index, would complete the Career Golden Masters if he lifts trophies in Madrid and then Rome in the next month. Record 40-time Masters 1000 champion Djokovic is the only player to have achieved the feat.
By defeating Jodar, Sinner has also joined ATP No. 1 Club Members Federer (2006) and Nadal (2010, ’11) as the only men to reach the semi-finals at all of the first four Masters 1000 events of the season.
