We’ve broken this down by swing speed because that’s the honest way to answer this question. The right driver between these two lineups changes depending on how fast you swing and we want you to come away from this knowing not just which one to test at your next fitting but which one our data says should work better for your game.
Here’s how the two lineups map to each other before we get into it.
Slow swing speeds (under ~90 mph)
Callaway’s best option here: The Quantum Triple Diamond. It leads the Callaway range at slow speeds with 201 yards total, the highest straight rate of any Callaway model at 60 percent, and an 8.8 MGS score. If a tighter ball flight is your priority, the Quantum Max is worth testing alongside it. The Quantum Max is the most accurate club in either lineup at just 3.74 yards offline and it only gives up about two yards of distance to get there.
TaylorMade’s best option here: The standard Qi4D. It matches the Quantum Triple Diamond at the top of the slow speed category with an 8.8 MGS score, 199.5 yards and a 94.5-percent playable rate. For most slow swing speed golfers, it is the right starting point. If forgiveness on bigger mishits matters most to you, the Qi4D Max is worth adding to your fitting session. It gives up about four yards but its 96.2-percent playable rate and 2.79 yards offline make it the safest option in either lineup at this speed.
Bottom line: The Quantum Triple Diamond and standard Qi4D share the top MGS score at slow speeds and are the two clubs with which to start your fitting. If accuracy is your priority, add the Quantum Max. If forgiveness on bigger mishits matters most, the Qi4D Max is worth a look at 96.2-percent playable rate.
Two clubs worth skipping at this speed: the Qi4D Max Lite gives up too much distance and accuracy for most slow swing speed golfers, and the Quantum Max D is the least accurate driver in the Callaway range. Both have better options ahead of them.
Mid swing speeds (~90–105 mph)
Callaway’s best option here: The Quantum Triple Diamond. It leads the Callaway range at mid speeds with a 9.3 MGS score and the best playable rate in the Callaway lineup at 91.9 percent. If pure accuracy is your priority, the Quantum Max is worth testing alongside it. It posts the highest straight rate of any club in either lineup at mid speeds at 60.4 percent and, at 255.4 yards, the distance difference between the two is negligible.
TaylorMade’s best option here: The standard Qi4D. It matches the Quantum Triple Diamond at the top of the mid speed category with a 9.3 MGS score and leads the TaylorMade range on playable rate at 92.8 percent. For most mid swing speed golfers, it is the right starting point.
The Qi4D LS may be worth adding to your fitting session if you are a better player looking for a lower-spinning option. It scores 8.9 and sits just behind on distance at 254 yards.
Bottom line: The Quantum Triple Diamond and standard Qi4D share the top MGS score at mid speeds. The Quantum Max deserves a look if hitting more fairways is your priority. One club to be cautious about on the TaylorMade side is the Qi4D Max. It drops to 7.9 MGS at mid speeds with the lowest straight rate in either lineup at 45.3 percent and 249 yards of total distance.
High swing speeds (over ~105 mph)
Callaway’s best option here: The Quantum Max. It doesn’t just lead the Callaway range at high swing speeds, it was the highest-scoring driver in our entire 2026 high speed test with a 9.7 MGS score. At 295.7 yards, it is the longest driver in either lineup at this speed. Interestingly the Triple Diamond was the better choice for mid and slow swing speed players but faster golfers did well with the Max.
TaylorMade’s best option here: The Qi4D LS. It scores 9.2 at high speeds and is the tightest driver in the entire high speed test at just 0.98 yards offline. For a high swing speed player who already generates plenty of distance but misses too many fairways, the Qi4D LS is the club that fixes that without giving up yards. The standard Qi4D is worth testing alongside it. It scores 9.2 as well and leads on straight rate at 55.9 percent.
Bottom line: At high swing speeds, this is the closest category in the test. The Quantum Max is the best individual driver and the right pick if distance is your priority. The Qi4D LS is the accuracy answer: tightest dispersion in the test, nearly matching the Quantum Max on yards.
Final thoughts
The data tells a clear story across all three speed categories. Callaway’s Quantum range is the stronger overall lineup. It leads at high speeds with the best driver in our 2026 test, dominates at mid speeds and stays competitive at slow speeds. TaylorMade’s Qi4D wins on overall MGS score and has specific models that are genuinely hard to argue with at every speed tier. Neither brand disappoints. But the right choice between them comes down to your swing speed and your priorities.
