The stars of the LPGA embark on major season Thursday morning in the opening round of the Chevron Championship. World No. 1 Nelly Korda, who counts the 2024 Chevron Championship among her two major titles, is playing well so far this season and hoping to add another chapter to major championship history this week.
But she’ll have to get past World No. 1 Jeeno Thitikul to do so. Thitikul took the top ranking from Korda last year. Though she’s had several high finishes in majors, Thititkul has yet to capture a victory in one of the most important events.
Korda and Thitikul will see a lot of each other on Thursday, as they’re paired together for the first round along with defending Chevron champion Mao Saigo.
