Watch the action from the 2026 Formula 1 Chinese Grand Prix as Kimi Antonelli secures debut win

Kimi Antonelli is a first-time race winner after converting his pole position into victory at the Chinese Grand Prix.

While he was overtaken off the line by the fast-starting Ferrari of Lewis Hamilton, Antonelli later found his way back to the lead and maintained position throughout much of the race, resulting in the teenager sealing his debut F1 win.

George Russell made it a Mercedes 1-2 by crossing the line in second place, while Hamilton scored his maiden Grand Prix podium as a Ferrari driver – with the rostrum also his first since 2024.

The other Scuderia car of Charles Leclerc took fourth – the Monegasque having engaged in a close battle with his team mate during the race – while Haas’ Ollie Bearman finished fifth and Pierre Gasly claimed sixth for Alpine.

Several cars failed to make the finish, including the McLaren pair of Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri who were both unable to start the race due to separate car issues.
