Arsenal: When can the Gunners win the Premier League title?

City have a game in hand over Arsenal and also host the Gunners at Etihad Stadium on Sunday, 19 April in a match that could effectively decide the title between the two clubs.

If Arsenal win, they would be nine points clear of City with five fixtures remaining, although City would have six to play.

A postponed match between City and Crystal Palace is yet to be rearranged.

If Arsenal win all of their remaining games, including beating City, they can be crowned champions with a game to spare with a draw at home to Burnley on 16 May.

But if City drop points before Arsenal’s meeting with the Clarets, and Arsenal rediscover their winning form, the title could be decided earlier.

However, if City win all their remaining league fixtures – including beating Arsenal – and the Gunners win all their other league matches, the title race will go to the final day of the season.

Arsenal have a superior goal difference to City, currently sitting three ahead of their challengers.

Opta’s calculations put Arsenal’s current chance of winning the title at 86.66%.
