Cummins had been sidelined due to a lingering lumbar stress injury that has severely limited his playing time since July 2025. After briefly joining the team in India earlier this month, he returned to Australia for a final, critical scan overseen by CA medical staff on Wednesday. The results confirmed that the injury has fully resolved, paving the way for his return to the subcontinent.
