Carlos Alcaraz, Jannik Sinner and Novak Djokovic headline the entry list for April’s Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters, the first clay-court ATP Masters 1000 event of the season.
Nine of the current Top 10 players in the PIF ATP Rankings are set to compete at the tournament, which takes place from 5–12 April in Monaco. American Ben Shelton is the only member of the Top 10 not scheduled to play.
Alcaraz returns as defending champion after claiming the title last year, when he fought through three deciding-set victories en route to the trophy. World No. 2 Sinner, a two-time semi-finalist at the event, owns a 10–4 record in Monte-Carlo, according to the Infosys ATP Win/Loss Index.
Djokovic, a two-time champion, will look to bounce back after his opening-round defeat to Alejandro Tabilo in 2025. Former champions Stefanos Tsitsipas, a three-time winner, and 2023 titlist Andrey Rublev are also included in the field.
Joao Fonseca, the 2024 Next Gen ATP Finals champion, is set to make his Monte-Carlo debut, while fellow rising star Jakub Mensik will also feature. Monegasque Valentin Vacherot is due to return to his home ATP Masters 1000 event for the first time since capturing the Shanghai title last October.
Other players not in the initial entry list who otherwise would have earned a main-draw spot include Holger Rune, who is suffering from an achilles injury, Tommy Paul, Learner Tien, Brandon Nakashima, Jenson Brooksby and Alex Michelsen.
As of the release of the entry list, the last player in the main draw World No. 51 Marin Cilic.
