When could Wolves be relegated from the Premier League?

Wolverhampton Wanderers could be relegated as early as 18 April from the Premier League following a forgettable campaign.

Rob Edwards’ side are currently bottom of the table having picked up just 17 points from 31 matches, leaving Wolves 13 points from safety having played one match more than every other team in the bottom six.

Wolves can only reach a maximum of 38 points this season and that would require the Molineux men winning each of their final seven matches.

Despite a recent uptick in form, that would appear unlikely.

Wolves are also not in action this weekend after their fixture against Arsenal was brought forward due to the Gunners’ involvement in the Carabao Cup final, allowing their rivals to make further ground.

The next three league games are crucial for Wolves, facing relegation rivals West Ham, Leeds and Tottenham.

If they lose all three of those matches and Nottingham Forest pick up just one point in their next four games, Wolves will be relegated from the top-flight.

But they can be relegated even sooner if they lose their next two matches and Forest gain four points, Spurs get three points and Leeds earn one more from their next three fixtures.

Opta’s supercomputer gives Wolves a 99.91% chance of being relegated.
