ATP No. 1 Club member Mats Wilander was among the former stars who took part in the ATP & WTA Alumni Golf Tournament on Monday during the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells.
Held annually during the BNP Paribas Open in the California desert, the gathering gives former ATP players the chance to reconnect in a relaxed setting. Around 50 participants attended this year’s event, swapping tennis racquets for golf clubs for a friendly morning competition.
Wilander, who captured seven major titles and spent 20 weeks at the top of the PIF ATP Rankings during his career, was among the standout names participating in this year’s edition of the event. Guy Fritz — Taylor Fritz’s father — and Brazilian Rogerio Dutra Silva were also present at the event.
After play concluded, participants gathered for lunch and a prize presentation, continuing the social side of the day that has become a highlight for former players visiting Indian Wells. Former World No. 36 Francisco Gonzalez was also in attendance, joining the group for the lunch portion of the event.
