Jack Draper has withdrawn from next month’s Roland Garros, the British lefty announced Wednesday on social media.

After bringing an early end to his 2025 season ahead of his second-round match at the US Open in August, Draper spent five months sidelined before returning to competition in February. The 24-year-old showed encouraging form on his comeback, reaching the quarter-finals in Indian Wells — where he defeated Novak Djokovic — but he retired against Tomas Martin Etcheverry in his Barcelona opener and subsequently withdrew from Madrid, Rome, Hamburg and now Roland Garros.

“My knee is on the mend and I’ve started back hitting balls but unfortunately I have been advised not to play Roland Garros,” Draper wrote on Instagram stories. “As gutting as it is to miss another Slam, the advice is not to rush straight back into playing five-set tennis on clay.

“Off the back of the arm injury I sustained last year, I’ve been restricted with my training and by giving myself the time to heal and build, I can be the player I want to be out there once again. See you soon!”

Draper climbed to a career-high No. 4 in the PIF ATP Rankings in June last year, capping a standout first half of the season that included his maiden ATP Masters 1000 title in Indian Wells. The Briton also reached finals in Doha and Madrid during that stretch.

Following a semi-final run at Queen’s last year, Draper fell to Marin Cilic in the second round at Wimbledon and did not compete again until the US Open, where he withdrew ahead of his second-round clash with Zizou Bergs due to injury.
