Wu Yibing has endured lengthy injury layoffs over the past two seasons, but the 26-year-old is firmly back on the rise early in 2026.
The Chinese star on Sunday won the Elizabeth Moore Sarasota Open, an ATP Challenger 75 event in Florida. Wu overcame Stefan Dostanic 6-1, 4-6, 6-3 in the final to claim his seventh Challenger title.

Wu’s momentum has been building since the start of the year. In January, he qualified for the Australian Open and reached the second round. The following month, Wu advanced to the quarter-finals of the ATP 500 event in Acapulco. Wu is up to No. 101 in the PIF ATP Live Rankings following his triumph on the Sarasota green clay, where he beat former No. 4 Kei Nishikori in the second round.
Wu reached a career-high No. 54 in 2023, the same season he became the first Chinese ATP Tour titlist with his victory in Dallas. Dealing with an injury, Wu was forced to shut down his season following the US Open that year. He competed in just six events in 2024 and tallied a 25-10 match record in 2025, across all levels.

Gustavo Heide will not soon forget his title run on home soil at the Copa Internacional de Tenis. The Brazilian was dominant throughout the week, having not dropped a set across five matches. The 24-year-old defeated top seed Gonzalo Bueno 6-2, 7-5 in the final and celebrated his victory by lying on his back in relief. A three-time Challenger champion, Heide has won two of his titles in his home country.
“It’s very special to win here, where I played my first Challenger, and now I win the title in front of my family, my friends, and all this crowd,” said Heide. “I’m very happy. I had a small lapse in the match, but that’s part of the game and I managed to recover. Now I’ll rest for a week and then head to Europe.”
