Jannik Sinner has won three ‘Big Titles’ in a row.

The 24-year-old defeated great rival Carlos Alcaraz on Sunday in the Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters to claim his 14th ‘Big Title’ — a combination of Grand Slam championships, trophies at the Nitto ATP Finals and ATP Masters 1000 tournaments, and Olympic singles gold medals. Sinner joined Novak Djokovic (2015) as the only men who have claimed the first three ATP Masters 1000 titles of the season.

The Italian now is just one Big Title behind Alcaraz who opened his season with a triumph at the Australian Open to lead his rival by four. But Sinner has struck back in a big way by emerging victorious in Indian Wells, Miami and Monte-Carlo.

Sinner has tied Alcaraz with his eighth ATP Masters 1000 title, with the stars tied for second among active players behind Djokovic (40). The San Candido native has claimed all of his titles at the level since 2023 in Toronto.

The new World No. 1 in the PIF ATP Rankings has won four consecutive Masters 1000 tournaments, becoming just the second man to accomplish the feat (also Djokovic and Nadal). Sinner’s streak dates back to his victory at last year’s Rolex Paris Masters. Including the Nitto ATP Finals, he has now won five of the past six ‘Big Titles’ events.

Big Titles Won: Alcaraz & Sinner

 Players Grand Slams

NATPF

 1000s Total (Avg)
 Carlos Alcaraz 7/20 0/3 8/35 15/59 (3.9)
 Jannik Sinner 4/25 2/4 8/39 14/68 (4.9)

This was the first time Sinner has won the Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters. The only Masters 1000 events he has not claimed glory at are Madrid and Rome, which are next on the calendar.

Sinner has won a Big Title for every 4.9 tournaments he has played in his career, passing Pete Sampras (also 4.9) for trophies earned per Big Title events played. The only players with better rates are Djokovic (3.3), Nadal (3.5), Alcaraz (3.8) and Roger Federer (4.4).
