The All-New Flexair Collection is Fox Racing’s Slimmest and Lightest Yet

Today, Fox Racing is releasing the completely rebuilt Flexair Mountain Bike Collection. The new pants, shorts, jerseys, and gloves (for both men and women) are the lightest iteration of the Flexair lineup to date.

And the slimmest. The latest Flexair offerings were heavily influenced by Fox’s SpeedSuit RS, which is form-fitting to say the least. Fox athletes such as Asa Vermette, Tahnée Seagrave, and Jackson Goldstone all raced in the SpeedSuit and were instrumental in developing the new Flexair line.

The Fox SpeedSuit also offers a bit of extra protection with integrated elbow, chest, and hip pads. While the new Flexair line has no integrated protection, it draws on the same fabric choices and design as the SpeedSuit.

(Well, no one-piece onesie jumper thingy.)

Fox Flexair Lineup

Fox reworked the Flexair line from the ground up, focusing on performance. Flexair is aimed at those looking to push on the everyday trail ride and race day. Compared to previous Flexair products, this latest Flexair line is lighter, more breathable, more flexible, and more comfortable.

And, like the SpeedSuit, Fox uses body mapping in the new Flexair line. The result is an articulated, slim, and tapered fit that enhances mobility and reduces wind drag.

The new shorts and pants now feature a bonded waistband that sits a bit higher on the body. This creates more flexibility and comfort at the waist without bunching or slipping down. The women’s pants and shorts have a slightly higher rise than the men’s, based on feedback Fox received from athletes.

Bottoms feature three pockets. Two are typical hand pockets, one is a “pass” pocket, presumably for a lift pass for the chairlift cheaters. All pockets are zippered. Both the Flexair shorts and pants feature ripstop fabric and four-way stretch.

Both the shorts and pants feature perforations to increase breathability, with the pants (obviously) having more. The pants have perforations on the inner thigh, knee, and lower leg. They also feature a stretch-gusset cuff to help get the pants on and off, while maintaining the tapered, slim fit.

Fox utilizes advanced fabrics to create jerseys that are both super-light and breathable. The jersey features Polartec Power Dry fabric for the main body, with bonded fabric at the neck, hem, and sleeve openings.

The Flexair Race Jersey is more suited for World Cup race performance and looks. Its body features 100% polyester fabric, with “race-inspired” upper sleeves. Basically, the sleeves are ribbed for less drag, of course.

Fox’s new Flexair glove features a ¾ neoprene cuff that locks the glove into place. The palm features perforations for breathability and fit, with touchscreen-compatible silicone grippers.
