WATCH: Tim David wows Virat Kohli, Anushka Sharma with six-hitting storm; RCB hammer CSK in IPL 2026

The M. Chinnaswamy Stadium witnessed a power-hitting carnage on Sunday night as Tim David produced a breathtaking display of six-hitting to guide Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) to a crushing 43-run victory over Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in IPL 2026. The Australian finisher’s 70 not out off 25 balls, laced with eight towering sixes, left RCB icon Virat Kohli and his wife Anushka Sharma in complete awe from the dugout and the stands respectively.

The Tim David show: A 106-metre monster that shocked Anushka Sharma

The moment of the night arrived in the penultimate over when Tim David launched a short delivery from Jamie Overton into the night sky. The ball sailed an astonishing 106 metres, clearing the stadium roof to the delight of the home crowd. What followed was as memorable as the shot itself. David casually waved a composed “bye-bye” gesture to the departing ball, leaving the Bollywood actress visibly stunned. She reacted with astonishment, covering her mouth in disbelief as the ball disappeared out of sight. David had already sent a warning signal earlier by smashing Noor Ahmad for three consecutive 90-metre sixes.

Kohli steps out to watch the mayhem

The carnage was so relentless that Kohli, who was dismissed earlier for a composed 28 off 18 deliveries, stepped out of the RCB dugout to get a better view of the onslaught. He stood open-mouthed, applauding David as he dismantled the CSK attack, particularly in a 30-run over against Overton (6, 2, 4, 6, 6, 6).

David and captain Rajat Patidar (48 not out off 19 balls) added an unbroken 99 runs off just 35 balls for the fourth wicket as RCB hammered 97 runs in the last five overs without losing a wicket. Patidar hit 6 sixes, with the duo combining for 14 maximums. The total of 250/3 was not only the highest of IPL 2026 but also the highest ever by any team against CSK.

CSK’s chase falls apart

In response, CSK’s chase never gained momentum after they lost their top three inside three overs. Sarfaraz Khan (50 off 25) offered some resistance, but the visitors were bowled out for 207 in 19.4 overs. Bhuvneshwar Kumar was the pick of the bowlers with 3/41. The result condemned CSK to their third consecutive defeat of the season, leaving them winless at the bottom of the table.
