Rafael Jodar is into his maiden ATP Tour final at the Grand Prix Hassan II in Marrakech.

Rafael Jodar continued his breakthrough week in emphatic fashion on Saturday at the Grand Prix Hassan II in Marrakech, where he advanced to his first ATP Tour final.
Playing in his maiden tour-level semi-final, the 19-year-old showed little sign of nerves as he overpowered Camilo Ugo Carabelli 6-2, 6-1. Jodar saved both of the break points he faced, according to Infosys ATP Stats, to become only the second player born in 2006 or later to reach an ATP Tour final, joining two-time champion Joao Fonseca.

“I’m very happy to be in the final here in Marrakech. It’s been a great week,” Jodar said. “There’s still one more match, so I have to be ready for it. It’s going to be a tough one, so let’s get ready for it.”
Ranked outside the world’s Top 900 just a year ago, Jodar’s rise has been rapid. Last year, he scooped three ATP Challenger titles to seal his spot at the 20-and-under Next Gen ATP Finals in Jeddah before turning professional at the end of 2025.
On Monday, Jodar broke into the Top 100 for the first time and, following his run to the Marrakech final, he has now climbed to No. 66 in the PIF ATP Live Rankings. The Spaniard has continued to underline his potential on the ATP Tour. He recorded tour-level wins at the Australian Open, Dallas and Acapulco, before reaching the third round in Miami, which sealed his rise inside the Top 100.
Jodar is competing in his first tour-level clay-court event this week, and now stands one win away from a maiden ATP title. He will face 36-year-old Marco Trungelliti in Sunday’s final, which will be their first Lexus ATP Head2Head meeting.
The Argentine earlier defeated defending champion Luciano Darderi 6-4, 7-6(2) to continue his dream run at the clay-court ATP 250 event.
