32″ BMX Bike? Yup, Meet the SE Bikes’ Colossal Ripper 32″

It seems that everyone is jumping on the 32″ wheeled train, including SE Bikes. The past week (before April Fools), SE Bikes introduced the Colossal Ripper 32″, a bike SE is calling the “biggest, baddest, and raddest BMX bike of all time”. I don’t know about all that, but it probably is the first 32″ BMX bike that’s gone to production.

After a year of testing, the Colossal Ripper 32″ brings together BMX functionality with the larger wheel size. The frame is fabricated using 6061 aluminum Floval tubing with an integrated head tube design and internal cable routing. It also rocks the full chromoly Landing Gear fork.

The Spec

The Colossal Ripper 32″ comes equipped with Shimano MT200 hydraulic disc brakes, featuring dual pistons and 180mm rotors on both the front and rear.

For the drivetrain, SE spec’d their V-Ridge 3-piece chromoly cranks, spinning on a sealed American bottom bracket. Sprocket duty is done by the 36-tooth SE Racing sprocket.

The wheelset features 36-hole alloy hubs with double-wall disc rims and a 19-tooth freewheel, wrapped in SE Bozack 32″ x 2.4″ tires designed for street riding.

Other notable spec highlights include the new SE Colossal Ripper 32″ 4-piece handlebar. It measures 28.5″ wide with a 10-degree backsweep and 1-degree upsweep.

SE also spec’d their new Captive seat. It has a concave design and a built-in bottle opener. For the Colossal 32″ Ripper 32″ geometry, SE made sure to accommodate the larger wheels while maintaining BMX-style handling characteristics (which doesn’t seem all that easy to do…).
