Glasgow extended their lead at the top of the United Rugby Championship to eight points after they cruised to a 38-17 bonus-point win at home to title rivals Leinster.

A lack of discipline hindered the visiting side’s hopes of cutting the gap at the top of the table as Brian Deeny and Ronan Kelleher were both sent to the sin bin during a first half in which the Warriors scored four tries.

Leinster had gone in front early through a try from young winger Joshua Kenny but collapsed before half-time with Macenzzie Duncan, Gregor Hiddleston and George Horne all going over as Leinster were made to pay for their indiscipline.

Kyle Rowe added a fourth before the break with the pick of the tries, bursting beyond Jimmy O’Brien and kicking ahead before skipping inside the defender on the line to bring up Glasgow’s bonus point.

Hugo Keenan crossed for the visitors before the interval – with Sam Prendergast converting – but there would be no fightback after the interval.
